Dalkeith House is located in the heart of the small rural village of Newcastleton on the Scotland England border. The village boasts a hotel with a restaurant, 2 cafes and a pub as well as a golf course, fishing, 7stanes Mountain biking trails, forest walks, and an activity centre. The Northumberland National Park is 30 mins away offering great days out at Kielder Water, Hadrian's Wall and the dark sky park at Kielder Observatory.
The house has 5 double bedrooms, 3 have en-suite with one large family bathroom and a cloakroom on the ground floor. Living space is spacious offering loads of room to relax and unwind. The drawing room has comfy sofas, a wood burner and a 50 inch Smart HDTV. The TV room has 55inch HDTV with Sky. There are also lots of movies for rainy days! WIFI is available throughout the house with music delivered downstairs via the Sonos Music system.
The kitchen is fully equipped with absolutely everything you could need. Dine informally in the breakfast room which doubles as a fabulous day room on sunny days. The dining room is large with the capacity to seat all in comfort. If you don't fancy cooking indoors then BBQ on the patio or stroll to one of our local eateries - they are literally a hop, skip and jump away. We also have 2 cafes if you fancy home baking and a cuppa!
French doors open from the large reception area onto the terrace and patio. The garden is secure for children and dogs with plentiful borders, nooks and crannies to sit and while away the time. It attracts the sun for most of the day. A max of 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Located in Newcastleton, this vacation home is in a rural area. Clan Armstrong Centre and Solway Aviation Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Gilnockie Tower and Lanercost Priory. Traveling with kids? Consider Kielder Observatory and Walby Farm Park. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
