Situated on the opposite side of the River Tweed from Melrose this former stable has been exceptionally converted to a generous two bedroom house in a quiet courtyard setting. Ideal for couples, a small family or small group of friends this excellent "Home away from Home" has more than you’ll need to enjoy your time away.
The property is tastefully decorated with contemporary art and enjoys beautiful views over open countryside. One of the many appealing features is the wood burner in the main living room, perfect for a cosy evening in front of the large smart TV which has Freeview, Freesat and a Netflix account. The living room features two sofas and a wing armchair. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances, including integrated dishwasher, separate fridge and freezer and a washing machine. It boasts a good selection of quality equipment, all you need to prepare great meals to enjoy round the spacious dining table. There is a Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother so that you can enjoy a tasty cappuccino or your other caffeine kicks. An initial supply of coffee pods is provided in the welcome pack. A slow cooker is also available so that you can return to a prepared meal after a full day out. The main bathroom is on the ground floor and guests will enjoy the comfortable deep p-shaped bath with a powerful over-bath shower. Upstairs both the bedrooms are exceptionally well proportioned and the principal bedroom has a luxurious en-suite shower room. A separate toilet and hand-basin room is off the upper landing, ideal for those in the second bedroom which has three single beds, two of which can be made into a super kingsize bed. The bedrooms are equipped with comfortable mattresses to ensure a good night’s sleep; a king-size Otty hybrid in the master bedroom and high quality memory-foam mattresses in the 2nd bedroom.
The cottage is a perfect base for fishing, golf and hiking. It is a 15 minute walk into Melrose across a listed footbridge over the River Tweed. Melrose is famed for its abbey and Rugby’s Sevens Tournament and you’ll enjoy walks around this romantic and quintessentially Scottish town. Bars, cafés and restaurants are available to suit everyone and the scenery of the surrounding area is simply stunning all year round. The village itself has two highly rated restaurants, both within two minutes walk of the cottage. Tweedbank Station, located nearby is perfect for taking a day trip to Edinburgh and the towns and villages around the Borders are steeped in history so we can pretty much guarantee you’ll be keeping busy - unless you just want to sit back and relax - it’s perfect for that too!

Old Gala House and Sir Walter Scott's Courtroom are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Waverley Line and Scott's View. St Abbs & Eyemouth Voluntary Marine Reserve and Woodside Garden Centre are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding nearby.
