With plenty of room for ten, The Oaks is a superb place for a celebration or a holiday with family and friends. Nestled in two acres with gorgeous views over the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this generous country home provides a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are some fantastic walks available from the garden gate onto The National Trust’s Long Mynd Estate, while younger guests will be blown away by the games and cinema rooms. This part of Shropshire is fit to bursting with things see and do; historic houses and castles; the famous Ironbridge Gorge Museums; beautiful traditional market towns, including gourmet Ludlow and Shrewsbury; and great golf just five minutes down the road at the Church Stretton Golf Course.
Perfect for families and groups of friends at any time of the year – short and midweek breaks are available, with a minimum stay of 3 nights and there is ample parking.
The Oaks is a beautiful detached country house, sleeping ten, situated in the small rural hamlet of Inwood, two miles from the delightful market town of Church Stretton. The welcoming property is nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the National Trust’s Long Mynd Estate directly outside the front gate. In a tranquil position between the beautiful Long Mynd Hills to the west and the Caradoc and Lawley Hills to the east, the property enjoys stunning views over the surrounding South Shropshire hills.
This spacious and comfortable home-from-home offers modern luxury in the heart of the countryside and is elegantly furnished throughout with airy living spaces. It benefits from five spacious bedrooms, three of which are en suite and one with an additional day bed. The sleeping accommodation is flexible (two of the bedrooms have zip and link super king beds) making it ideal for different combinations of guests.
The delightful well equipped kitchen leads to a dining room with stunning countryside views and there are two further ground floor living rooms and an upstairs games room.
The Oaks knows how to have fun too! The lovely enclosed garden of approximately two acres has two large patios facing west and south with teak outdoor furniture, a barbecue and fire bowl for cooking and camp fires! With stunning views over the Shropshire hills, it's the perfect social spot for alfresco dining. Pop a cork and prepare to laugh loud and long with friends or family. There’s no one to disturb here - the gardens and grounds are completely private.
Or add a bit of extra sparkle to your stay and hire a hot tub to soak up the peace (and your tired muscles) and toast the views of the hills beyond. Thoughtful little extras including Bramley smellies and a well stocked welcome hamper, add a special touch to your break. If you prefer a little pampering, you can arrange a visit from an Organic Spa Treatment Service.

The AGA runs all year at the Oaks. During exceptional hot summer spells (which are difficult to predict more than a couple of days in advance!) the kitchen can feel uncomfortable hot during the day. The best way to deal with this is to open doors and windows to give a cross flow of air. The house is situated on an open hill side and even on summer evenings the AGA can give a pleasant background warmth. Whilst the house has a Neff electric hob, double oven and microwave the AGA gives increased cooking capacity and a 'special cooking' experience. So, due to these considerations the AGA will be alight when you arrive at the Oaks unless you advise us otherwise.
Minimum stay 7 nights Saturday to Saturday during Summer High season.
Minimum stay 3 nights at all other times except Christmas and New Year which is 4 nights.
Check-in is after 4PM.
