Region: A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was the quietest place under the sun and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
Town: The small village of Cockshutt is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and has a pub, village hall, primary school and a parish church. Just five miles away is the pretty market town of Ellesmere, which offers Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings, a lovely church and a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, and is surrounded by its famous meres. Twelve miles south of Cockshutt is the county town of Shrewsbury, and there's plenty of other attractions, towns and villages within reach.
Located in Ellesmere, this cottage is in a rural area and on a lake. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Colemere Country Park and The Mere At Ellesmere Country Park, while Wem Town Hall and British Ironwork Centre are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids?
