Comfortable Large Farmhouse Perfect For Family Country Holidays, North Cheriton

Somerset. Sleeps up to 8

This graded 2 farmhouse has been fully refurbished only a few years ago to accommodate a big family. There are more than five acres of private land including a large field, a wood and a log cabin, perfect for outdoor summer holidays.
The house, full of character, contains 2 double bedrooms and 4 single rooms of various sizes set up over two levels, with 4 bathrooms and a separate toilet. The kitchen is large, bright and very functional, connected to the dining-room equipped with an extendable dining table (sitting up to 10 people). The living-room is split in two, with a lounge area perfect to watch TV or relax and a more formal area; both have access to the double-sided wood burner. In the back garden, a picnic table, tennis table and outdoor games will be much appreciated on sunny days. Inside, you will enjoy a large collections of books for any ages as well as plenty of board games and toys for younger children.
The house is in a very quiet location, surrounded only by a few houses in a small dead-end lane, off a pretty and authentic small Somerset village. Most of the bedrooms have views on green fields, pasture for horses and sheep. From the house, you can go on many walks, round the village and signed pathways through fields, with the Monarch Way accessible within 15 minutes walk.
The next town is only 3 miles away, with all the facilities needed (supermarkets, independent cafes, bakeries, pubs and fast food, a library, a sport centre with swimming-pool, tennis courts and other shops). There are two train stations nearby, connecting to different areas of the South-West and both leading to London: Templecombe (5 min drive) and Castle Cary (15 min drive).
It is an ideal spot to access many holiday attractions: Stourhead National Trust, the old town of Sherborne, the picturesque Bruton (with the Contemporary Art Gallery Hauser and Wirth and the acclaimed hotel and gardens The Newt), Haynes Motor Museum, The Fleet Air Museum, are all accessible within 15 min drive. Longleat Zoo, Montacute National Trust, Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury are about 30 min drive. And within an hour, you can go and visit the Jurassic Coast, Bath and Bristol, the Cheddar Gorges, Salisbury, Stonehenge and access many beaches. Of course, there are many other places to explore and most of all many lovely walks!

Located in Templecombe, this farm stay is in a rural area. Gartell Light Railway and Hauser and Wirth Somerset are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Cadbury Castle and Sherborne Steam and Waterwheel Centre. Mill on the Brue and Royal Bath and West Showground are also worth visiting. Practice your golf swing on a nearby course, or enjoy other activities in the great outdoors, such as ecotours, horse riding, and hiking/biking trails in the area.
