Loadbrook is the gateway to the Peak District National Park and Loadbrook Barn is a stunning hideaway, one of six similar properties on-site. Just perfect for a relaxed break with loved ones, surrounded by glorious open countryside where you can hear birdsong, sheep and occasional pheasant. Ideal for visitors to the South Yorkshire area who prefer an out of town location. Visitors can enjoy shared use of a landscaped garden with streams, ponds and a fairy wood.
Inside, the property is full of character and charm, beautifully furnished, comfortable and warm with a wood burner, perfect for cosying up next to on winter evenings. Outside the property really comes into its own, as it’s set in beautiful grounds, you have private access to a wonderful York stone area with hot tub and all weather relaxation den housing a sauna, quiet space, shower and toilet, and sitting out deck.
Despite its rural setting, Stannington is just a 10-minute drive, and here you’ll find ample amenities including shops, pubs, cafés and convenience stores. Just 10 minutes further and you’ll reach the city of Sheffield, which as the UK’s fourth largest city (and one of the greenest cities in Europe) has everything you’d expect, plus gardens, parks and lots of wide open spaces.
Heading into the Peak District, many highlights are easily accessible within around 30 minutes including Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Mam Tor, Edale and Hathersage. Castleton with it’s Blue John mines and impressive caverns is only 20 minutes away. Ladybower Reservoir is just 10 minutes away as is The Rivelin Valley Trail. Ultimately if you can bring yourself to leave The Retreat, between the Peak District and city of Sheffield you really are spoilt for choice! Shop 2.9 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
