Town: The bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs, which maintain a constant 28 degrees Celsius, first drew the Romans to the town. Buxton's current Palladian splendour was designed and built under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire in the 18th and 19th centuries, including the magnificent semicircular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, and the Pavilion Gardens and Opera House. These magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and the arts, are still open to the public to enjoy today.

Located in Buxton, this cottage is in a rural area. Chatsworth House and Buxton Opera House are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Peak Practice Golf Driving Range and Cavendish Golf Club. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Church Lane or Church Lane. Break out the clubs and hit the links with a golf course nearby, or seek out an adventure with hiking and cycling.
