Tucked away in a peaceful residential area, next door to the owners family home, on the outskirts of the charming town of Madeley rests this remarkable detached holiday home, Glen Helen. Boasting a homely and spacious interior and idyllically positioned on the edge of the Ironbridge Gorge, Glen Helen makes for the perfect base for a small family or group of friends looking to explore the delights of this sought-after region. Pass through the secure gates and park up on the spacious driveway that greets you at the foot of this lovely dwelling before unloading your bags and stepping inside to begin your staycation in your new home-from-home. Kick off your shoes and unwind with a moment of peace in front of the television in the charming sitting room as the glow of the electric fire gently fills the room. When stomachs start to rumble, make your way through to the well-equipped kitchen to rustle up some tasty treats, where you'll find an array of essential amenities, including an electric oven and hob as well as a handy washing machine to freshen up your holiday attire. Uncork a bottle of wine and gather together with your loved ones at the nearby dining table to indulge in the fruits of your labor, or make mealtimes an alfresco affair and head outdoors for a peaceful seat amongst the greenery of the garden. As the evening grows darker, retreat indoors and climb the stairs to the first floor where you'll find three well-presented bedrooms, with two sumptuous doubles nestled alongside an intimate single, each providing ample storage to unpack your belongings and make yourself at home. In the morning, indulge in a leisurely soak amongst the bubbles in the elegant family bathroom before heading downstairs to join your guests in the bright and airy conservatory, where you can soak in the garden views as you indulge in a steaming cup of coffee. When you don't feel like cooking, take the short stroll into the heart of Madeley to find a delicious selection of eateries to choose from, including authentic Indian cuisine at Kashmir Cafe, or enjoy a spot of traditional pub grub at the Foresters Arms. Whilst you're in the area, be sure to visit the open-air museum at Blists Hill Victorian Town, where you can immerse yourself in life of the Victorian-era in a restored 19th-century village, or stroll along the banks of the River Severn to discover the iconic landmark of The Iron Bridge, the worlds first cast-iron bridge, dating back to 1781. Be sure to pack your clubs and head to the golf course at the Telford Hotel to practice your swing, or venture further afield and tour the extensive grounds of the 16th century country house at Benthall Hall, now preserved by the National Trust. Younger guests may enjoy a day out to the nearby town of Telford, where you can come face-to-face with life-size dinosaurs and cute farm animals at the Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World, or if that's not your thing, board a heritage steam train at Telford Steam Railway and journey through the surrounding countryside. Make memories that will last a lifetime with a stay at Glen Helen.
