Region: The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
Town: Located on the western fringes of the Peak District, the attractive rural village of Ipstones is set in moorland countryside between the market towns of Leek and Ashbourne. The village itself offers a post office, village shop and pubs serving food, although other amenities are available close by. The surrounding countryside is excellent for walking and offers miles of woodland trails and moorland hikes to enjoy. Dovedale and the limestone Churnet Valley are within easy driving distance and the Manifold Trail is also close by. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and the National Trust's Lyme Park - used in the television adaptation of Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' - are all easily accessible, as are the National Trust's Ilam Estate and Blackbrook Zoological Gardens.
Located in Leek, this cottage is near theme parks. Churnet Valley Railway and The Old Manor are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Whiston Hall Golf Club and Skyride. Traveling with kids? Consider Alton Towers, or check out an event or a game at Harrison Park. Explore all the area has to offer with hiking/biking trails and cycling.
