From your doorstep, you can cross the river and walk up the footpath to the popular Monsal Trail, a traffic free route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders through some of the Peak District’s most spectacular limestone dales. The pretty villages of Litton and Tideswell are nearby, with a number of fine pubs selling real ale and the popular little market town of Bakewell with its array of independent shops, pubs and restaurants is just four miles away. A little further beyond are the historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, both well worth the visit.
