Blacksmith’s Cottage has been carefully restored with modern fixtures throughout, complimenting the original exposed beams and historic 15th century period features. The furnishings make for a romantic and intimate stay in one of Suffolk’s most popular destinations, perfect for couples looking for a weekend country break or longer stays to discover the wider Suffolk area.
The open-plan living space connects the sitting room, dining area and the kitchen in a contemporary style and has been thoughtfully finished. The sitting room is complete with a selection of books and films perfect for those cosy nights in or peaceful Sunday mornings. The modern country-style kitchen is well-equipped including coffee machine and dining table with seating for two. Nestled on the first floor is the master bedroom with luxury touches including high quality Egyptian cotton bed linen and bathrobes. The en-suite bathroom has a freestanding copper bath, separate walk-in shower and underfloor heating. Outside is a small, enclosed decked area with seating which can be used to store bikes if needed.
This beautiful historic property is located in the very heart of Lavenham, home to an abundance of traditional pubs, tearooms, restaurants, independent shops, galleries and a luxurious spa, all of which are within walking distance from Blacksmith’s Cottage. From Lavenham you are within easy reach of Suffolk’s most popular coastal towns and the beautiful landscape of Constable Country. Made famous by landscape painter John Constable, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers glorious walks and insight to the painter's inspiration. The nearby market town of Bury St Edmunds is worthy of a visit with the extensive ruins of Bury St Edmunds Abbey and variety of shops and places to eat.
