Compass Cottage is set on the picturesque Emsworth mill pond which leads to the harbour. This quaint Victorian property is suitable for a small group of adults or family of four. As a traditional cottage it has a steep central staircase which is not suitable for small children.

The main living area looks out across the water and is comfortably furnished including an internet enabled SMART TV and a working fireplace to cosy down in front of on a cool summer or winter evening. The open plan kitchen / dining area is an excellent size for entertaining, with a log burner and overlooks the garden, a perfect spot to sit with a glass of wine, play games or eat dinner after a long day of exploring.

The well equipped kitchen includes, Nespresso machine, kettle cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster and washing machine with dryer. You will have everything you need to cook up a feast with the fresh produce available from the local farm shops or why not try out one of the many local independent excellent restaurants, and abundance of pubs and cafes within walking distance.

There is a back door leading out from the dining area onto a pretty little cottage garden, with a raised sunny deck area where there is a table and chairs with enough room for all the family, ideal for al fresco dining.

On the ground floor you will find the family bathroom with a shower over the bath and on the first floor are the two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a comfy king size bed which looks out across the millpond and the second bedroom overlooks the garden. The second bedroom can made up as a king or twin room but please let us know in advance of your arrival at the cottage.

Parking is in front of the property on a first come first serve basis, however, if this is full there is a free car park over the road. Free Wifi is available.
Situated at the top of Chichester Harbour, Emsworth is a delightful market town popular with sailors, walkers, artists and tourists. It has two tidal mill ponds which are host to a variety of wild life. It is full of history, with a long established reputation for oyster fishing and boat building and still boasts traditional shipwrights and chandeliers.

Emsworth boasts a handful of independent restaurants including the michelin starred ' 36 on the Quay'. By foot you can easily get to the bottom of South Street where you will find a cafe overlooking the harbour, 'The Bluebell' Pub, well known in the local area for their excellent fish and chips, 'Fat Olives' restaurant and ‘Wooster's' restaurant and wine bar.'

The sailing club is a thriving centre for sailing enthusiasts and the pretty streets have a fascinating mixture of different architectural styles. A gentle walk around the village, which has superb harbour views, gives a genuine feel for the past.

There are excellent road links to Portsmouth and Chichester (15 minute drive to both approximately) and there is also a mainline station to London. There is an interesting selection of independant shops in the town itself and there are numerous places of interest to visit in the area. These include Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth, one of the largest vantage points in Europe, the internationally renowned Chichester Festival Theatre at Chichester, polo at Cowdray near Midhurst and horse racing and motor sports at Goodwood. In addition to the sailing at Emsworth there is also a very popular sandy beach at West Wittering which attracts wind surfers and surfers, as well as sun bathers.

This cottage is located in Emsworth. Chichester Harbour and Farlington Marshes reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Funland Hayling Island and Hayling Seaside Railway.
