The Neighborhood:
Inhabited since Neolithic times, with roads built by the Romans and mentioned in the Domesday Book, Batheaston saw significant development in the latter half of the 20th Century but much of it remains as green belt and within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are many beautiful walks into the countryside around, including around Little Solsbury Hill, which was an early Iron Age walled village and remains a prominent local landmark. The River Avon flows along nearby into Bath and the centre of the village provides most essentials including a convenience store, newsagents, post office, chemist, doctors, dentist, vets as well as a pub, café and fast food outlets.

Bath itself offers an excellent selection of High Street and independent shops, galleries, cafes, bars and restaurants and the heady night life that has been part of the city’s allure for centuries. The city also hosts regular festivals, including art, literature, music and theatre as well as being home to Bath Rugby. Popular attractions such as The Roman Baths, Holburne Museum, Victoria Art Gallery, Bath Abbey, the Assembly Rooms, Pulteney Bridge, Royal Crescent, The Circus and the Thermae Spa are all within a pleasant stroll through the streets and alleys of TV’s Bridgerton. An excellent selection of free and paid guided walks, ghost, history and comedy tours, open-top bus and river boat trips are also available.

Getting Around:
Four cars can easily park at the property, with further free parking possible on the street. Bath Spa train station, the Coach station, along with most of the city, is approximately three miles from the property. A regular local bus service operates between Batheaston (Morris Lane or Stambridge) and Bath Coach Station (Dorchester Street) and takes between 15-20 minutes, please check FirstBus for timetables. A car is not needed once you are within the city centre as all shops, theatres, museums, restaurants and bars, parks and amenities are then within easy walking distance. Uber and local taxis are also available.
