Bradford-on-Avon is a historic former mill town, which makes for a picturesque setting, beside the River Avon and Kennett and Avon Canal, which offers scenic boat trips on the impressive 65-foot Barbara McLellan boat. The area is thriving with beautiful walks and cycling trails, either around the surrounding countryside or with a stroll through the historic town centre. It also offers a great range of high-end restaurants, as well as more informal dining, for when you fancy an evening off from cooking. Bradford-on-Avon is home to Tithe Barn, a 14th century stone property with an incredible timber roof and original beams, which is well worth the visit, as is the Barton Farm Country Park, a delightful location for waterside walks.
