This peaceful getaway in the lovely Vale of Pewsey is an excellent area for exploring the local countryside with beautiful surrounding villages, historical and family attractions. Our recently refurbished very spacious and comfortable one bedroom holiday annexe is the perfect retreat for two, but can accommodate more!
Little Furze, offers single storey accommodation, with a double bedroom, shower room, sitting room, kitchen with dining area. For an extra charge £20 per night per guests we can offer a sofa bed which will sleep two in the sitting area. Please note this is a small double sofa bed. Travel cot, toddlers bed or Z bed and high chair can also be made available for children if required. The property comes fully equipped with all bedding and towels and guests have full use of owners’ large and very private garden, with patio furniture and BBQ and a small private patio with table and chairs.
Whilst Little Furze is attached to our main house and is accessed via our main gravelled driveway, the property is completely self-contained with its own private access. There is ample parking at the property, but please advise in advance if parking is required for more than one vehicle.
We will welcome you on your first day, then as much as required, we are happy to help, but mindful of your privacy.
We are in a very beautiful part of the country with a great deal to see and do, situated almost halfway between the ancient monuments of Stonehenge and the Avebury stone circle, there are many other places to visit. We are within easy reach of Salisbury, Bath and Bristol and also the Costwolds. With country parks, mansion houses, zoos, and safari parks such as Longleat and Paultons Park all within a reasonable drive.
Their are plenty of eateries local and and up to half hour drive away and there is also a regular bus service into Marlborough Town famous for it college and tea rooms and great for local shopping. If that doesn't take your fancy try a walk along the local canal or even take a trip in a long boat, available in the local town of Devizes, famous for the Caen Hill locks and the local 6X beer at Wadworth Brewery where tours are available.
So much to see and do I could carry on all day!
Getting around - Car is the best option, but local buses to Swindon, Salisbury, Marlborough etc. Train station at Pewsey 3 miles main line Paddington.
The stunning scenery in the area for those that love walking or cycling is a must, not far from the ridgeway and the wonderful White Horses in Wiltshire, all carved in the hillside of white chalk, of the thirteen original horses eight can still be seen today.
We are just along the road from the pretty village of Upavon, situated on the river, with two pubs and a very well stocked local shop. A trip into the local town of Pewsey (3 miles) for local coffee shops a woodland walk by the river or the local Co-op supermarket. There is also a main line railway station in Pewsey with trains to London Paddington and the West Country.
