The Bindery is a newly renovated, beautifully furnished, Grade II listed spacious first floor apartment sleeping up to four guests. In an extremely sought after location, right in the heart of Broadway, it is just steps from all that the village has to offer, including the historic Lygon Arms Hotel, with a long list of famous visitors and guests including Oliver Cromwell, King Charles I, King Edward VII and his grandson King Edward VIII, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor also spent some time there. Broadway is known as the Jewel of the Cotswolds owing to the history and architecture of the properties, the wealth of fabulous restaurants and pubs, the variety of gift shops, art galleries and museums. Not to mention the plentiful local walking routes and local attractions such as the Broadway Tower, part of the Cotswold Way, and the steam railway taking you direct from Broadway into the nearby spa town of Cheltenham. The property itself is also steeped in its own history, in fact The Bindery, as the name suggests, was originally used as a studio by a famous Arts and Crafts bookbinder, Katherine Adams, who was very celebrated in her time. On entering the property from the inner vestibule off the High Street, once you have ascended the short flight of stairs up to the apartment, you will find a bright, light, well equipped kitchen/dining room with views over the High Street to the right of the stairs and a spacious living room bursting with character beams to the left of the stairs through the landing. The whole property is charming, including the two bedrooms (one super king and one double) and two brand new bathrooms, one being en-suite, which are situated at the back of the property well away from the bustling High Street enabling a peaceful night’s sleep after a busy day. The surrounding Cotswold villages are all well worth a visit including Stow on the Wold, which offers a unique high street with pubs, gift shops, bakeries and Fosse Gallery, the historic Burford situated on the Windrush River with some fabulous restaurants and shops, along with Bourton on the Water which has the famous Cotswold Motoring Museum and the very impressive Birdland Park and Gardens. The nearby town of Cheltenham has its own points of interest at both Montpellier Gardens and Pittville Park, the Regent Arcade shopping centre and if you time your trip right a visit to the very popular Cheltenham Racecourse could end up on your itinerary. This standout Cotswold escape is waiting for you at The Bindery.
