Town: Malpas is a lovely village located in the heart of the countryside in south Cheshire. It is home to Bailey and Norman Motte Castles as well as a mediaeval street layout. The Lion at Malpas is a historic inn that serves wonderful food and drinks and has nicely furnished lounging areas for guests to unwind. It dates back to the 16th century and is a true jewel. The region is home to several stores as well as classic inns. Holiday villas can be located all throughout the area, hidden away in peaceful neighbourhoods of the town or in the breathtaking countryside that surrounds it. The church, which is made of beautiful red sandstone and features some excellent instances of great mediaeval construction, is without a doubt the town's gem. Malpas is located in the shadow of the Peckforton Hills, close to Tarplorley and the Delamere Forest, and conveniently close to Tilston and Tushingham. There are access points to fishing, various golf courses, and the Bangor on Dee or Chester racetracks. The neighbouring Shropshire Grand Union Canal offers boating as one of its joys, while the surrounding countryside is ideal for bicycling. It is highly recommended to visit Cholmondeley Castle and Garden, one of the top tourist destinations in the area.
