Surrounded by nature and countryside walks, Maltkiln Court is a lovely barn conversion on a working beef farm in the quaint village of Macefen, 8 miles from Whitchurch in north Shropshire. Providing the perfect little sanctuary for families or friends to relax and unwind.
The interior has been beautifully decorated with classic modern pieces mixed in with upcycled items to maintain the barn’s character. On the first floor, the master south-facing double bedroom has a comfy kingsize bed for a restful night’s sleep. The second bedroom offers a single bed, and the third with two singles, a dressing room and en-suite shower room. There is a spacious family bathroom with a shower over the bath too. Downstairs the fully equipped kitchen has all the appliances you need to cook up a tasty meal, and with a fantastic farm shop, just a couple of miles down the road you can indulge in all the local produce on offer. Be sure to prepare a feast, open a bottle of wine, and settle into the big sofa for a cosy evening in, there is a Smart TV with Netflix if you fancy watching a film.
Maltkiln Court is in a great location for exploring the surrounding areas of Shropshire. The Sandstone trail almost passes the property and there are many other routes nearby like the Bishop Bennet Way plus the proximity to the canal means there are dog friendly walks and hostelries. Whitchurch being just a few miles away has the heritage centre. As well as many independent businesses, cafés, gift shops and pubs to eat in. Nearby, Nantwich hosts music festivals and food weekends and a battle re-enactment in January.
For those seeking adventure, why not book a skydive at Tilstock Skydiving Airfield, a once in a lifetime adventure right on the doorstep? Or visit a lovely country pub for an evening meal or Sunday lunch. Go a little further and spend the day in the historical city of Chester with its excellent shopping and famous races, with the Blue Planet Aquarium close by and of course Chester Zoo - there are so many options.
