Westcliff Bay is a narrow sandy town beach, directly adjacent to Western Esplanade which is part of the seven mile shoreline of Southend-on-Sea.The beach is a gently sloping stretch of golden sand and shingle which sits outside of the hustle and bustle of the neighbouring central area of Southend. Visitors can enjoy picturesque walks along the promenade, venture down onto the sand or even go for a swim in the sea when the tide is in. This attractive area also boasts museums and theatres along with many cafe's and restaurants, many of which can be found directly opposite the beach. Access to the beach is a small step down from the promenade at many points. There is a ramp situated at the Western end of the beach allowing access to the sand and sea.There is a bus route that runs the length of the seafront during the summer season and the nearest train station is Westcliff which is a 5 minute walk from the beach.
