Overlooking Magdalen Green, Dundee’s oldest and most picturesque park, lies Books & Bridges, our first themed apartment inspired by the City of Discovery’s long standing love affair with literature.
With a library full of carefully selected books, a dimmer-controlled reading lamp and exquisite oxblood chesterfields to sink into, this beautiful apartment is a real haven for book lovers. With dreamy views of the historic railway bridge and the city’s 19th century bandstand, this leafy residential spot in the West End of Dundee is the perfect place to hide away and read until your heart's content.
The space
This newly renovated apartment is on the first floor of a traditional Scottish stone building and boasts two cosy queen bedrooms. It also has a luxurious fully tiled bathroom, featuring a double shower with rainfall head, and a brand-new, fully equipped galley kitchen with a Dolce Gusto coffee pod machine.
Our bright living room is the perfect place to relax and while away the hours. Whether you want to kick back and read, write or admire the magnificent view, this welcoming space offers you oodles of home comfort and the ambience of your favourite book shop. If you tire of the view or manage to read your way through our impressive book selection, you can play one of our many board games or make use of our smart TV which comes equipped with Freeview, an active Netflix account. Location
Dundee has been transformed in recent years into a lively and cosmopolitan coastal city. With many exciting commercial and leisure attractions, it has become a favourite place for city breaks. The property is situated in the West End of Dundee, in a picturesque residential area known for its beauty and cultural significance. Magdalen Green is a location that’s been known to inspire poets, writers and artists, including the famous Scottish painter James McIntosh Patrick, who lived just a few doors away from this apartment.
The city centre, which features a fantastic range of shops, restaurants, theatres and the V&A Dundee, is just a short walk away. South Baffin Street, which is just two miles away from our Books & Bridges apartment, is also a popular spot with visitors who want to pay homage to literary legend Mary Shelley who lived in the city in the early 1900s. It was during her stay in Dundee that she is said to have found the inspiration for her gothic masterpiece, Frankenstein.
The property boasts good transport links with a number of bus stops around the apartment. Dundee’s main bus and railway station are also within walking distance. The city’s domestic airport, which offers direct flights to London and Belfast, is just a short drive away.
Welcome to Books & Bridges, we hope you have a relaxing book-filled stay!
