For a truly rural stay in the Scottish Highlands, stay in this remarkable Georgian property. Accessible via a driveway from the single track road that meanders along the coastline between Tarbert and Lochgilphead, where you'll discover a treasure trove of quiet beaches, hidden coves and historical remnants dating back to the bronze age. The grounds of this four storey home are made up of wild woodland and pretty lawns. Kids will love exploring the surrounding woodland during your stay. Head up to the Hill Loch to fish for resident brown trout, or head across the fields 0.5 mile down to the secluded, sandy beach for some swimming, sunbathing or sea fishing. The nearest pub is an award winning local just 4 miles away, and the nearest village, Tarbert, is just 10.5 miles west. Head here for a general shop, art gallery, café and bustling fishing and yacht harbour. Starting with the ground floor, you will find the first of many rooms in which to relax. The drawing room is home to an open fire and a baby grand piano, ideal for spending time together as a family. This floor offers a formal dining room with large feature windows and a games room with table tennis. One more relaxed living room can be found on this floor, boasting a TV with DVD, perfect to unwind, and another similar lounge is available on the lower ground floor. This one also benefits from a cosy open fire. The heart of the house is its kitchen, where you can find a large fridge/freezer in the larder, an electric double oven and ceramic hob, microwave and a dishwasher. The utility room on this level offers a washing machine and the perfect space to leave muddy boots. You can enjoy a more relaxed family dining experience by sitting down at the table in the kitchen, warmed throughout by the oil fired range.
