Lochside is perfectly located to explore Glen Eck which is part of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and within the Cowal Peninsula. There are plenty of walks for all abilitiies, with view points providing stunning views of Loch Eck. The surrounding, mature, Glenbranter Forest is known for an abundance of nature and wildlife including red squirrels. For the more adventurous, the Loch Eck Loop offers mountain bikers magnificent views of Beinn Mhor, and the west coast islands of Islay and Jura. Fishing and golf can also be found nearby.
Local attractions include Puck’s Glen, Benmore Botanic Gardens and the Kilmun Mausoleum which is right on the doorstep of Lochside. This is where Saint Munn landed after leaving Ireland in the 6th century, and when the ’Holy Loch’ got its name.
Dunoon is only a 10-minute drive away and the famous Loch Fyne Oyster Restaurant is just over 30 minutes by car. The apartment itself looks out over the Holy Loch and has recently been refurbished to provide two double bedrooms, a living area with a multi-fuel burner, and a spacious kitchen. There is also a bike store and ample private parking. Beach 6 miles. Shop and restaurant ½ mile.
