Barn In South Cornwall, St Mellion

Cornwall. Sleeps up to 2

Set in one of the most peaceful parts of Cornwall, this secluded, granite stone converted barn is a perfect, central location to explore the spectacular and inspirational moors and hills, historic houses and gardens, and several areas of outstanding natural beauty, as well as the dramatic coastline. An idyllic couples retreat. Within easy reach of spectacular and dramatic Dartmoor National Park, the granite outcrops and clitter slopes of Bodmin Moor, the rocky shoreline and sandy beaches of Rame Head, as well as the wildlife haven of the Tamar Valley AONB, shaped by the rivers Tamar, Tavy and Lynher, this is a treasure trove of opportunities for walkers and those wishing to explore this environment. Equally accessible are a range of National Trust locations, including Cotehele, Lanhydrock, Antony and Buckland Abbey. On your doorstep you can escape to the less well known local delights of the St Dominica Heritage Trail, nearby Halton Quay, and Kit Hill with its breathtaking panoramic, far reaching views, taking in Brown Willy on Bodmin Moor to the West, High Willhays on Dartmoor to the East, and the Tamar Estuary to the South. A wide range of moorland, woodland and riverside walks are just a short drive away, as well as local beaches, coastal and market towns, and fishing villages. Alternatively, spend a relaxing afternoon at the nearby St Mellion Estate, a luxury resort with two championship golf courses, state of the art health club, Elemis spa as well as restaurants and other high quality amenities. The local village has a pub with restaurant, and close by you will find the towns of Callington and Saltash, offering a range of shopping, eating and drinking opportunities, or venture further afield to picturesque Tavistock, relaxing Liskeard, or the bustling fishing port of Looe. Enter the cottage through the French doors into cosy, vaulted open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with TV complete with Fire TV Stick for streaming your favourite films and music. As well as a comfy sofa, there is a dining table and chairs, and a well equipped kitchen area, with an oven and two ring hob, microwave, toaster and a fridge with ice compartment. To the side is a contemporary shower room, with shower, WC and heated towel rail. At the rear of the cottage, step down into the snug bedroom with king size bed, with window framing the view of the lakes, ducks, wildlife and countryside beyond. Outside you have your own area of a shared garden with a secluded seating area where you can take in the views whilst enjoying breakfast, or relax with a drink, basking in the evening sunset. Located in the grounds and to the side of the owner s property you can take advantage of the extensive shared gardens, peaceful countryside and the lakes with the resident ducks, barn owls and other wildlife. There is private, off road parking available right next to the cottage.
