Newtown is a small hamlet on the Lizard Peninsula, within easy reach of the beautiful Helford River creeks and coastline and is ideally located for exploring the south west coastal paths and small coves of this glorious peninsula. Very convenient for visiting the tranquil sailing waters of the south coast or the rugged surf beaches of the north coast. This holiday cottage fronts onto the road and provides comfortable accommodation with a relaxing enclosed rear garden and patio. The area is popular with walkers, bird watchers and wild life enthusiasts with sailing, water sports, cycle trails, golf or simply relaxing on one of the glorious hidden coves; boats and kayaks can be hired at St Anthony 3 miles away. Sub tropical gardens including Trebah, Durgan, Trelissike and NT properties including St Michaels Mount at Marazion. The Lizard Peninsula is the most southerly point in the UK with Coverack beach, Mullion Cove and harbour and the beautiful beach at Kynance Cove. The historic town of Helston famous for its May Flora Day, Flambard’s theme park and RNAS Culdrose air station all just a short drive. The busy port and town of Falmouth is only a 30 minutes’ drive with shops, galleries and The National Maritime Museum. The town hosts numerous high profile sailing and maritime events, food fayres and music festivals on the busy Events Square. Pendennis Castle sits proudly on the headland, built by Henry VI and mirrors St Mawes Castle on the opposite peninsula. Take one of the ferry services to explore the scenic Helford River and wildlife including basking sharks, dolphins, seals and bird life. Visit the Gweek Seal Sanctuary which is home to many rescue seals from around the coast. Beach 1 mile. Shop 2 miles, pub 200 yards, restaurant 1 mile.
