It is only a short walk to the beautiful White Strand beach, which is suitable for families and has a lifeguard in the summer season.

Doonbeg is just an hour’s drive from Shannon Airport, a three to four hours’ drive from Dublin Airport and two and a half hours from Cork Airport. The Shannon ferry in Killimer connects to County Kerry.
There is fishing nearby and Trump International Golf Links with spa and restaurant is just 8 minutes’ drive away and can be seen on the other side of the bay. It is also only a 10-15 minutes’ drive to Kilkee, the popular seaside resort with fantastic cliff scenery, and also the gateway to the remote, rugged Loop Head Peninsula.

Killard offers access to many designated scenic walking routes, both along the nearby cliffs and also further afield, while geologists remain intrigued by the local rock formations. The area is also very popular with birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts.
The restored, detached cottage has up-to-date comforts, is furnished to a very good standard and is bright and airy. The open plan ground floor living area is finished with exposed ceiling beams and consists of a fully-fitted kitchen with dining table together with a very comfortable sitting area complete with wood-burning stove. The cupboards at Killard Cottage are always stocked with basic starter essentials.
