Unique riverside Eco-Cottage built with Hemp walls and natural insulation.
Attractive to couples and families who enjoy the informal rural setting in all seasons.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms, one double, the other with ( adult sized) bunk beds. The kitchen/dining/livingspace is generous & open plan and leads out to the sheltered deck to the south & west. It has a wood burning stove and there's underfloor heating throughout ( on Autumn to Spring). The cottage has a lot of natural light and lovely views. The cottage is "accessible" with level access shower and access into the garden, although visitors should check any specific requirements.
Visitors access the cottage from their own gateway, allowing on site parking. There is plenty of external space, which opens onto a fenced area with chickens & ducks ( who can be very entertaining). The garden includes drying lines next to the organic vegetable beds, accessed by the owners. The whole area is now enclosed with a fence for child safety, but adult visitors are welcome to sit beside the river.
Located in Downpatrick, this cottage is in a rural area and on a river. Down Arts Centre and Down County Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Balmoral Golf Club and Downpatrick Golf Club. Traveling with kids? Consider Seaforde Tropical Butterfly House and Downpatrick & County Down Railway. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
