Impressive holiday home nestled in a quiet spot adjacent to the River Derwent which forms the boundary between Northumberland and Durham. Once the site of the Roman fort of Vindomora, now the village offers a range of pubs and restaurants. Enjoy views of National Trust woodland from the house and take picturesque walks along the river following the Red Kites trail, spotting local wildlife in the water and skies and break for lunch in one of the pubs or cafes along the way. Try water sports at nearby Hexham Rowing Club and head up to Alnwick Castle and the nearby coastal villages. The cathedral city of Durham and bustling Newcastle are both a short drive from here. The property is located behind the owners' home, with its own private access and garden. Enter through the front door into a generous hallway where you can leave your walking boots and coats. Head into the spacious 'L' shaped open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. There are comfortable chairs and sofas placed in both areas to allow families to spend time together, as well as have their own space to read, chat and relax while watching the Smart TV. The dining area also has an electric wood burner effect fire adding to the welcoming ambience. The contemporary kitchen is light and airy with an orangery style roof and large bi fold doors on two sides. The centre island houses the sink and provides great workspace overlooking the garden and bar stools where friends can perch with a drink. You have everything you need to prepare your meals, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffee machine and a washer/dryer. The dining table has seating for six so you can enjoy sociable meals together. There is a utility area off the kitchen with fridge/freezer and a shower room with a shower and WC. The ground floor bedroom has a king size bed and plenty of storage for your things and a stylish sliding door leads into the light and airy en suite bathroom with bath and WC where you can enjoy a relaxing soak in the beautiful roll top bath after a day out and about walking. Heading up the stairs, there is a Juliette style balcony on the landing adding to the sense of space and light and two further bedrooms, a beautiful king size bedroom with a double wardrobe and dressing table. Two steps lead down to the en suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. The pretty third bedroom has a window overlooking the side garden with twin beds and an en suite shower and WC. Outside, as this is a corner plot, there are bi folding doors to two sides from the kitchen leading to the garden space where you can extend your day outdoors and enjoy the views of the local woodland beyond. Enjoy drinks on one of the raised decking areas or in the fun, summer house which comes complete with a couple of sofas. You can also relax together in the hot tub (being installed March 2021) gazing up at the night sky, followed by a hot chocolate, sitting around the fire pit and charcoal BBQ to plan your next day s adventure. You can maintain your fitness during your stay there is access to a small, private gym within the grounds offering mats for stretching or yoga and a variety of fitness equipment, including a stepping machine, an exercise bike, a boxing punch bag and a variety of hand weights. There is a TV to help you stay motivated and afterwards, you can sit and warm down your muscles in the infrared sauna (access to these facilities to be arranged directly with the owner). There is off road parking for three cars.
