Wonderfully placed to explore the great outdoors, take a walk in nearby Dodd Wood and find waymarked forest walks, spectacular panoramic views and maybe even spot an osprey. For a more challenging climb head up Ullock Pike above the cottage, and continue to the mighty Skiddaw, England's fourth highest mountain, with epic views to the coast, Scotland and southwards towards the central Lake District. At 11 miles away, outdoor enthusiasts will love Whinlatter Forest Park for its array of mountain biking tracks, a café and a high ropes course with zip wires at Go Ape! Those looking for a slower pace can explore Mirehouse (2 miles) and its rambling gardens, adventure playgrounds, a wildflower meadow, a heather maze, and woodland walks. Just 3 miles away find the Lake District Wildlife Park for a great family day out or for a spot of grown up pampering treat yourself to a spa day at nearby Armathwaite Hall, 2.5 miles away. The thriving market town of Keswick has shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs, several galleries and museums and a thriving theatre. A reverse level cottage, this property makes the most of its lakeside location. Seven external steps lead up to the conservatory which has an outside step and tiled floor. With dual aspect windows and a large dining table, the conservatory is a great palace to enjoy a family meal. The kitchen is equipped with an eye level double oven, electric hob and microwave, and the breakfast bar is great for grabbing a quick snack. A washing machine and freezer are available for use in the owner's garage. The cosy lounge has wonderful panoramic views of Skiddaw and the surrounding fells. On chilly evenings, settle on the sofa with a film on the TV and warm your toes against the roaring wood burner. The cottage has three spacious bedrooms enjoying views of Skiddaw, all furnished with chests of drawers and wardrobes for storage. The king size bedroom is on the first floor as is the family bathroom which has a separate shower. A family bedroom with a double and single bed and a twin bedroom are on the ground floor. Outside, this cottage is surrounded by farmland and has lake access just 150 yards away. There is a pleasant garden which attracts the local wildlife.
