This cottage is located right next to the stunning 12th century Cartmel Priory, in the heart of the beautiful, historic village of Cartmel. With its quaint cobbled streets, the delightful little River Eea, a range of artisan shops, restaurants, and cosy old world pubs, Cartmel is home not just to the famous priory, but also the beautiful Cartmel Racecourse (scene of several immensely popular steeplechase meetings throughout the year). There are many gentle woodlands walks to enjoy too. And for the foodies, there is an abundance of great eateries to choose from including the truly special (indeed world famous) L'Enclume Britain's only three Michelin star restaurant outside of London and the south, and one of only 12 in the entire country. Walking into the property itself, you will immediately be struck by its deceptively large size. There are numerous original beams and historic features throughout, creating a welcoming feel. The lounge has a stunning wood burner in a wonderful deep inglenook fireplace and this spacious and comfortable room is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing evening, maybe enjoying TV or music. Moving on through the property takes you to the cosy dining room featuring a lovely big oak and marble dining table seating up to eight perfect for a family meal and a debrief after the day s activities. The dining room then leads on to the spacious and wonderfully well equipped traditional Lakeland kitchen, which offers all you require to create a meal to remember. There is a lovely old kitchen table and chairs, a big range cooker (featuring double ovens and gas hob), fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and a vast variety of other kitchen gadgets. Finally, the extremely handy back hallway and the utility room provide plenty of space for those muddy boots and coats, as well as a WC and washbasin. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer should you need them. Heading upstairs, you will find four excellent bedrooms. Particularly impressive is the amazing high ceilinged master bedroom with its vaulted ceiling, ancient wooden beams, a wonderful super king bed. The other three bedrooms are similarly memorable and quaint, one with a king size bed and walk in wardrobe, another with a 4ft double bed, and finally a delightful second floor mezzanine room with two singles and plenty of space for the kids to escape to. Finally, back on the first floor, you'll find the spacious bathroom featuring a bath, a walk in shower, and a WC. There is plenty of on street parking and public car parks, subject to availability.
