The impressive retreat is in the peaceful hamlet of Arkholme, within an immaculate 12 acre estate. With ample space both indoors and out, it s the ideal base for large family gatherings and holidays with friends. If you can tear yourself away from the elegant property, you ll find plenty to see and do nearby. Head to the pretty village of Kirkby Lonsdale (6 miles) to admire the chocolate box cottages and peruse the independent shops. Stride out from your front door through the magical Lune Valley or hop in the car to investigate the show caves of the Yorkshire Dales (13 miles). You ll also be within touring distance of the South Lakes, with the bustling market town of Kendal just 21 miles away. The stunning property has ample room for everyone to either socialise together or find their own little spot to unwind. To the right of the grand entrance hallway is the magnificent lounge. Large sash windows bathe the room in natural light and two Chesterfield sofas and a selection of armchairs are arranged around a cosy open fire. This is the ideal place for everyone to gather in the evening to chat about the day and plan the next adventure. Alternatively, unwind in the snug, with its plump sofas and plush rug, reading a book or watching the Smart TV. The country style kitchen looks out over the gorgeous garden and has a round table and chairs where you can grab a quick bite to eat or sit with a glass of wine whilst the dinner cooks in the AGA or the electric oven and hob. The kitchen also has a microwave and a dishwasher. In the morning, gather around the table in the breakfast room to drink your coffee and discuss the itinerary for the day, opening the doors to the patio to let a gentle breeze flow through the house. The separate formal dining room has a large wooden dining table to seat all ten guests and its fireplace and exposed beams create a magical backdrop for dinner parties. Completing the ground floor is the utility room which houses a handy WC. A grand staircase leads to the first floor, where you ll find the five beautiful bedrooms. The first is a super king size with spectacular views over the garden and an en suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. Next, there are two delightful twin bedrooms which have been tastefully decorated and can be made up into super king size bedrooms on request. A further super king size bedroom is located on this floor (which can be made up into a twin on request). This light and airy room has dual aspect windows looking out over the grounds. The final bedroom is a king size and is decorated in neutral tones for a restful night s sleep. On the first floor you ll also find the two family bathrooms, one with a bath, shower and WC and the other with a shower over the bath and a WC. Due to the age of the property, it is worth noting that you may experience low water pressure in the bathrooms. The beautiful home sits in 12 acres of immaculate grounds and boasts mesmerising views of the surrounding countryside. To the rear of the property is a patio area where you can enjoy mealtimes in the sunshine, followed by a dip in the wonderful outdoor pool. To the corner of the patio is a striking summerhouse, where you can chill out in the shade, listen to some music or read the newspaper. A couple of steps lead from the patio to the large lawn, which is a great place for children to play and dogs to burn off steam. The property has ample off road parking.
