The area is popular with cyclists, walkers and water-sports enthusiasts and the Boating Centre on the lake offers boat hire, boat trips around the lake are available on the Steam Yacht Gondola together with solar powered launches Launches. If you want to leave the car behind Tent Lodge is ideally placed to access Grizedale Forest, with its miles of walking and cycling trails.
