This beautifully-presented, spacious stone barn conversion is located in the hamlet of Meathop on the southern tip of the Lake District National Park. On entering this character cottage there is a spacious hall and utility and the first of two bathrooms. The hall leads to a lovely dual-aspect sitting room with comfortable seats and large stone fireplace housing a woodburning stove and an exposed stone wall to the ceiling. Step through to the well-equipped modern farmhouse-style kitchen with dining area, a welcoming room ideal for friends and family to gather and socialise in. Upstairs are three generous bedrooms with beams, sloping ceilings and quirky windows, furnished with quality furniture. On this floor there is also the second bathroom with fabulous tiles and a modern basin. This cottage is ideally suited to friends and family including the four-legged members of your party to explore both locally the Southern Lakes and further afield. Close by you have Levens Hall with its world-class garden and topiary and majestic Sizergh Castle; both have cafes serving delicious treats to tempt you. Cartmel is less than 15 mins away, a picturesque village which is well worth a visit with an ancient 12th century priory, the UKs smallest race course with meetings during the summer months and is also home to the infamous LEnclume restaurant, and quality shops. It is also home to sticky toffee pudding which of course can be purchased and sampled. In a similar time you can also be at Newby Bridge situated at the tip of Lake Windermere and enjoy one of the cruises to Bowness or Ambleside while enjoying the stunning lakeland vista from the water. Walking is available nearby in both the Lyth Valley and Hamstead Fell at Grange-over-Sands, where wonderful 360 degree views can be enjoyed of the Morecambe Bay estuary, Lakeland fells and beyond. Cyclists are also well catered for with the family-friendly cycle way from Heysham to Barrow on the door step. Return at the end of your days activities to this super cottage in its peaceful location and enjoy an alfresco meal or drink outside or hunker down in front of the woodburning stove for a cosy evening. A perfect choice for a delightful holiday all year round.
