Sitting within the famous town of Bakewell, you will find walks straight from the doorstep. This really is a wonderful base for a variety of activities whether it be walking, cycling or visiting nearby stately homes such as Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House and Estate. Alternatively, enjoy having a stroll around Bakewell’s weekly Monday market, shops, tea shops, restaurants and pubs.
Both the rugged Dark Peak and the softer limestone White Peak are within easy reach, and Alton Towers, Britain’s premier theme park, is only a short drive away. The impressive caverns in nearby Castleton and Little John’s burial place in Hathersage are also well worth a visit.
