Bovisand Lodge is an historical Grade 2 listed Country House set in the Devon countryside yet enjoying a beach side location. The Lodge provides luxury holiday accommodation with 3 Heritage Apartments in the East wing of the house. Each apartment has its own separate entrance and terrace or patio area with BBQ and access to the Indoor heated pool and Sauna.
Bovisand Lodge is set in an unspoilt wooded valley that runs down from the hills of Staddon Heights, the grounds open onto a safe sandy beach with breathtaking views of the Cornish coast. The South West Coast Path runs along the bottom of the grounds allowing you to explore the stunning scenery. The charming country house/lodge was for many years the home to Joseph Whidbey, the Superintendent Engineer of the great Plymouth Breakwater, which can be seen from the Lodge. Despite it's peace and tranquillity the Lodge is only seven miles from Plymouth City Centre.
Bovisand Lodge is set within a small award winning family run holiday park. It's a peaceful Park with an emphasis on nature and tranquillity - we hold the David Bellamy Gold award for conversation. By popular demand there are no club house or restaurants/shops on-site. These are all a short drive or longer walk away! Generations of guests have enjoyed and appreciate the quality surroundings which has made their stay memorable and special.

Explore the Area, our tips on what to see & do;
Take the water taxi to Plymouth’s historic Barbican, where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for America. We love wandering along the cobbles, browsing in the antiques shops and independent restaurants and obligatory fish and chip shops.
Continue on to the Hoe, if you are feeling energetic climb to the top of the iconic lighthouse – Smeatons Tower and be rewarded with 360 views, or take a dip on the 1930’s sea water lido. Beatles fans can sit where John and all sat to have their picture taken whilst making their Magical Mystery Tour film.
Play Golf at Staddon Heights – a stunning cliff top course with views over Cornwall to Dartmoor
The South West coast path runs along the bottom of our holiday Park – explore Devon’s dramatic coast line in both directions – you can even stop for a pub lunch along the way!
Explore Royal William Yard and take the Cremyll ferry (foot passenger) to Mount Edgcombe, explore the grounds and walk to the fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand
There are many National Trust properties are nearby – Saltram, Antony, Cotehele
Go on a snorkel safari or rock pool ramble at Wembury Beach – a national marine conservation area
Visit The Box, Plymouth's new museum, art gallery and cultural centre, where you can meet a life sized woolly mammoth!
If you are looking for a wonderful country & beachside hideaway within a ‘Heritage’ setting; to escape to with your partner or family this year, you truly could not have selected a better location.
