This holiday property, with spectacular views, is just 15 miles from Torbay and are within easy reach of Devon’s beaches. The A38 is just 8 miles, and the cathedral cities of Exeter and Plymouth are a 30-minute drive. Hatchwell Hall is ideal for exploring Dartmoor, Devon and Cornwall. Hatchwell Lodge has a private patio area and an enclosed garden area, the living room has a wood burner for those cosy evenings in, as well as a large kitchen/dining room. Widecombe-in-the-Moor boasts two excellent, characterful pubs, serving locally sourced food, the world-famous church known as ‘Cathedral on the Moors’, a National Trust shop, a post office, gift shops and several tea rooms. Castle Drogo (National Trust) is the last castle built in England in nearby Dartmoor, and there are many other National Trust properties within easy reach. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is the drama of Dartmoor, with rocky tors, wild ponies, exquisite walks, horse riding, fishing, cycling, falconry and golf at Bovey Castle’s award-winning course. Within 6 to 8 miles are the two picturesque villages of Chagford and Mortenhampstead, with historic inns, excellent pubs, tea rooms, curiosity shops, tennis courts and the Miniature Pony Centre. Visit Bigbury-on-Sea, 16 miles, Slapton Sands and Torcross, 22 miles, Dawlish, 15 miles with beach and nature reserve, or Torquay which is within easy reach. A visit to Burgh Island is a must.
