Although the cottage will feel like it is in a different world, a pub is just a ten minute walk away with a large selection of shops, restaurants and cafes in Bovey Tracey. The forest, surrounding the property, is a haven for wildlife and offers a range of walks straight from your front door. Tottiford, Trenchford and Kennick reservoirs are all within walking distance or a short drive away with National Trust properties nearby. Easy access onto Dartmoor highlights such as Haytor, Houndtor and Widdecombe on the Moor. Visit beautiful coastal locations such as Teignmouth, Shaldon, Torquay and Dartmouth. The cathedral city of Exeter is just a 30 minute drive away or why not take a scenic railway journey there from Newton Abbot train station. Following recent renovation, Woodcutters offers contemporary accommodation including an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has a single bed. The living room area has a wood burning stove (with a free supply of logs) in addition to electric heating throughout the house. The bathroom benefits from a separate shower, wash basin and WC. Enjoy wildlife, observing birds feeding just outside your window. Wi fi is available and the cottage has a 32 inch Freeview TV and DVD Player. If you choose to stay in and cater for yourselves, the kitchen has an electric range cooker and ceramic hob, fridge with small freezer compartment and a microwave. Outside, to the side of your cottage is a garden area with dining furniture. To the front of the property there are large gardens to explore with additional seating areas (with BBQ) right by the stream. The games barn, with home cinema system, has bi fold doors which can be fully opened in good weather and a large wood burning stove for the cooler evenings. If you bring dogs with you there is a dedicated fenced paddock area they can enjoy. You will also find an out door, kitchen, incorporating a pizza oven and open fire pit. Three resident alpacas moved to Greatrock Farm in 2021. Mica, Josephine and Lulu live in a small paddock beside the main driveway to the holiday cottages. As guests at Greatrock you will be welcome to visit the alpacas whenever you like and a personal guided walk with the alpacas can be arranged during your holiday for a fee (please contact the owners directly if interested once your booking is confirmed).
