Perfectly situated, the village of Kilmington is just a mile away from the cottage and boasts two local pubs serving food, and a farm shop selling local produce. Slightly further away, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's acclaimed River Cottage restaurant can be found in Axminster (3 miles) as well as a weekly market and variety of shops. Alternatively, head towards the world renowned Jurassic Coast and visit the seaside towns of Beer and Lyme Regis, both within an 8 mile drive, or spend an afternoon exploring the Axe Estuary Nature Reserve. Other attractions and places of interest accessible from here include Abbotsbury Swannery (24 miles), Bicton Park (18 miles), the cathedral city of Exeter (23 miles) and numerous National Trust properties. Step inside this unique property, that s design emulates from its natural surroundings, via a set of French doors and into the cosy and welcoming lounge. Here, comfortable seating is arranged around a warming wood burner and Smart TV, providing a lovely place to relax after a busy day exploring. From here, head further inside and into the beautiful kitchen/diner which also includes a set of French doors leading to the outside, meaning that you can dine alfresco with ease during warm weather. The handcrafted kitchen blends traditional craftsmanship with stylish convenience, and boasts a great selection of appliances including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. Located just beyond this, at the base of the stairs, is a handy utility room with a washing machine and ground floor WC, which also provides a useful place to store coats and outdoor equipment. Venture up the feature, spiral cob staircase and onto the first floor where you will find yourself on the spacious landing which leads to the two gorgeous bedrooms. The first and larger of the two rooms boasts a king size bed and an opening large window to a pretty Juliet balcony. The second, a smaller but equally as impeccably styled room, offers a super king 'zip and link' bed which can be made in to a twin. Completing the offering inside the property, located in between the bedrooms, is a stylish bathroom with a roll top bath, separate shower, marble sink and WC. Heading outside, further highlights await in the shape of the delightful, enclosed courtyard garden, presented with garden furniture and a BBQ. This provides a perfect venue for laidback meals in the open air, or a morning coffee before heading out for the day. Further to this, guests also benefit from access to a secluded area with seating and a fire pit, perfect for stargazing on a clear night. Private off road parking for two cars is also provided.
