The Old Stables is a spacious former barn, retaining the original wooden beams which would have obviously once been home to the horses of the farm! It’s since been beautifully converted into a truly wonderful, light and bright property filled with original pieces of art, quality furniture and fittings with the added benefit of a very large private decked area with sea views looking down the valley towards the nearby Torcross- the perfect space for alfresco dining. The front door opens into a very useful area for shoes and coats to be stored, with a utility space storing the washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a downstairs toilet adjoining the utility room. The open plan kitchen, dining space leads through to the lounge with the beautiful wood burner and plenty of space for all to relax.
From the kitchen, you can head upstairs leading to the bedrooms and family bathroom, where you will find a separate shower cubicle as well as a bath to relax following the day at the beach or exploring the South Hams. The master bedroom has a king size bed with an en-suite shower room as well as walk in wardbrobe. There are two further bedrooms, the largest of which has two 3 foot single beds, and the smaller bedroom has a full 3 foot single bed, with a full sized 3 foot bed stored underneath, which can be made up for your arrival if required.
Directly outside The Old Stables you will find your own private parking space. The barn itself is off the central courtyard which was once the farmyard area of the Stokeley Barton estate, a small complex of quality barn conversions. A short stroll form the barn you will find the fabulous Stokeley Barton farm shop where you can stock up on fabulous produce from the on site butchers, deli and grocers, and then get over that by enjoying a piece of cake and coffee in their café. During the Summer months they regularly host events in the evening making the most of their location overlooking Slapton Ley and the coast. Alternatively, take a stroll towards the village of Stokenham and in less than half a mile you’ll come across 2 fabulous pubs with restaurants, or head in the opposite direction towards the coast where you can find a further 2 amazing restaurants. You really will be spoilt for choice if you choose to stay at The Old Stables.
