A magnificent property nestled on the rolling hills of North Devon, Woolacombe Country House is an unmissable delight for a luxurious rural retreat!
First, there’s this exquisite kitchen. A wonderfully modern space, with tons of worktop space for cooking, mixing drinks and evening grabbing a bite to eat at the fabulous breakfast bar, it even has a set of French doors leading you to a wonderful balcony. For sublime relaxation, head to the sitting room just at the far end of the kitchen, where its huge, plush sofas invite you to sink into their soft cushions and rest in total, blissful comfort. There’s even a log burner here for getting truly cosy! To dine, meanwhile, step into your enchanting sun room, with great picture windows inviting the glow of daylight within, and offering spectacular views across the tree-tops and even the sea in the distance! There’s a second lounge area here, alongside a dining table for eight, plus direct access onto the terrace.
When it’s time to get a little rest, there are four fabulous bedrooms to choose from. The first, the superb, spacious master suite, offers a king size bed, a private, breath-taking balcony with seating, sun loungers and sublime views, and an ensuite bathroom with a luxurious double-ended bathtub, as well as a double-size shower. Next there is a second double bedroom with plenty of natural light streaming in over the lovely large bed. The third room features two single beds in a spacious room, while the final room has a single bed and an additional trundle bed, should this be required. There’s a family bathroom as well as a shower room on the ground floor perfect for rinsing off the sand after a morning at the beautiful beaches nearby.
And finally, at long last, step out into this majestic garden, teeming with balconies, terraces, lawns and seating! Enveloping the whole property and sweeping spectacularly down the hillside, your gorgeous garden truly makes this a family paradise, with space for kids of all ages to enjoy fun and games on the lawn, and plenty of incredibly picturesque benches from which you can admire the unforgettable sea and countryside views and the total tranquillity of the Devon countryside.
Just five minutes to the west is the incredible town of Woolacombe with its amazing surfing beach, while less than ten minutes to the north is the seaside town of Ilfracombe with its signature Victorian buildings on the seafront!
Woolacombe Country House is delightfully tucked away off a quiet country lane, less than five minutes from the beautiful town from which it takes its name. Nestled on the northern coast of the beautiful Devon and boasting a 3 mile beach, Woolacombe is quite the location for a group looking for a holiday of water sports and adventure, or simply sunbathing and seaside strolls. There are endless activities, attractions, shops and more at your fingertips!
Meanwhile, if you fancy exploring a little further afield, the smaller seaside town of Ilfracombe is tucked away among the dramatic hills of the northern coastline, less than 10 minutes to the north of the property, and is a small, hilly harbour surrounded by cliffs. It is simply beautiful, steeped in history - and known as the culinary hub of north Devon. It’s unmissable!
Enjoy the warm, welcoming and easy-going folk of the West Country, and the endless sandy beaches, fossil cliffs, medieval towns and national parks of Devon, a truly unmissable county! For a perfect day in the fresh air and sunshine, Exmoor National Park and the vast Dartmoor National Park, with their endless rugged moorland, woodland, farmlands and valleys sprinkled with granite tors are ideal for walking, horse riding, mountain biking, climbing and much more! The magnificent Jurassic Coast, comprising 95 miles of coastline with 185 million years of geological history is well worth a visit, with the South West Coast Path running along a large section of it. If you’re after a traditional English beach trip with the added delight of white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and world-class sailing and surfing, you will not be disappointed!
Devon has two separate coastlines: to the south is the English Channel and to the north, the Irish Sea and Bristol Channel. The sublime English Riviera, a series of picturesque, south-coast harbour towns, is the nickname of the magnificent southern coastline. Torquay is one of the main highlights: a delightful seaside resort town well known for its beaches such as Babbacombe and the cliffside Oddicombe. Torquay Harbour offers shops, cafes and a marina, while the nearby Torre Abbey, a monastery founded in 1196, has art galleries and extensive gardens.
