Victoria Apartments are set in the heart of Newton Stewart, a delightful little market town known affectionately as ‘The Gateway to the Galloway Hills’. Situated on the first floor Cairnsmore has been refurbished in 2021, with an open plan living/dining/kitchen overlooking the main street and has a large comfortable bedroom and shower room. This makes the perfect location for friends or family wanting to holiday together but have their own space.
Newton Stewart is a picturesque market town at the heart of this stunning rural area and offers a wide variety of shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. With the Galloway Forest and Dark Skies Park only a short drive away Cairnsmore is ideally placed to explore the beauty of South West Scotland. This area of Dumfries and Galloway, known as ‘The Machars’, boasts rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches which benefit from the warmth of the passing Gulf stream and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, offering an ideal base from which to explore the Machars Peninsula and the Galloway hills. There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world-renowned Logan Botanical Gardens.
The area boasts many pretty little ports like Sandhead, Portpatrick and the RSPB Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve where thousands of sea birds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. Perfect for walkers, golfers and cyclists, with Glentrool, Kirroughtree and the 7Stanes mountain bike trails nearby, as well as a great choice of golf courses.

Located in Newton Stewart, this cottage is in a rural area and on a river. 7stanes - Kirroughtree and 7stanes - Glentrool are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Laggan Outdoor and Cally Gardens. Gkenwhan Gardens and Galloway Activity Centre are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling and hiking/biking trails nearby.
