Alma Grange is perfectly situated to enjoy the stunning coastline of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. A 5 minute drive away from some of Wales’ most beautiful beaches, the coastal path, golf courses and the bustling coastal town of Cardigan, you will be well positioned to explore the local area and make the most of what it has to offer.
Alma Grange is a luxury Victorian country home, situated in the outstanding natural environment of West Wales. Located a few miles outside the historic market town of Cardigan, on the border of North Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion, Alma Grange commands panoramic views of the Preseli Hills in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the River Teifi and Cardigan Bay.
The original part of the house dates back to 1870 and has been painstakingly restored and modernized by award-winning architects and builders to the highest contemporary standards.
Alma Grange has been restored with the needs of modern living in mind. It features two reception rooms – a large formal living room and a more informal morning room, with a cosier feel, for relaxing in. In addition, there is a children’s play area in the new pavilion which adjoins the kitchen and a cinema room in the basement.
Alma Grange features five bedrooms, sleeping a total of ten persons. The master bedroom looks out beyond the neighbouring fields towards the Preseli Hills and boasts a bespoke walnut four poster king-size bed and a luxurious ensuite bathroom. The large guest bedroom is an expansive suite with a king-size bed and stunning views of Cardigan Bay. The main house is also home to two well-appointed bedrooms with twin single beds. In the pavilion downstairs, and offering a little more privacy, there is an additional guest bedroom with a comfortable double-bed and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Preseli Hills.
The beautiful garden at Alma Grange is a space for relaxation and play. The large bespoke tree house, tucked away at the edge of the property, is the perfect hideaway for young guests.
At the heart of Alma Grange lies a vast and exquisite kitchen, which bridges the Victorian main house and the new pavilion. With bespoke cabinetry by a local craftsman and unique hand painted tiles, the kitchen features an extensive island, range cooker, induction stove and separate oven and is well equipped for the keen chef or for simply spending time as a family. The kitchen is a must see and is definitely a chef’s paradise!
The formal dining room pays homage to the property’s Victorian history with an exquisite mahogany dining table and chairs and a selection of Victorian art and furnishings and a log fire for those colder evenings.
For day-to-day dining, the marble-topped dining table in the pavilion is flooded with light and opens out onto the west terrace, with views to the coast, the east terrace and the garden.
The carefully designed east terrace features a barbeque and a pizza oven and an outdoor dining area overlooking the garden and with views to the Preseli Hills and the River Teifi.
Towels and bed linen are professionally laundered and hired.
Local handmade hand and body wash and lotion are provided which are made in our local town of Cardigan.
