For a group that wants a remotely located place to stay and socialise in, this 5* spacious stone converted barn offers a comfortable hideaway in the mountains of Mid Wales. Stock up on supplies and go for meals out in the small town of Llanwrtwyd Wells (1.5 miles). Walking and biking are very popular in the area with options to suit all ages and abilities. There s everything from a ramble through local nature and wildlife reserves such as RSPB Gwenffrwd dinas (8 miles) which you can reach on foot from the property, to the notoriously steep ascent of the so called Devil s Staircase (7 miles). A 13 mile drive will take you inside the Brecon Beacons National Park, with its many natural beauty spots, and popular attractions, or nearby Elan valley is ideal for scenic drive around the dams, cycling or walking. Inside, the decor is elegant and all the rooms have been furnished with a wonderful attention to detail. You enter the property via a rear entrance, taking you into the lower ground floor, where you ll find the first of the five bedrooms, a pretty twin. On the ground floor, step into the sitting room, an open room with a wood burner and large windows overlooking scenic views of the valley and the Epynt. Moving through to the main lounge, which is raised by a few internal steps, you ll find sofas and armchairs gathered round the TV and DVD/Blu ray, perfect for film nights together. Back through the sitting room, a few more steps will take you into the bright kitchen/diner, equipped with a range style cooker, dishwasher, and a table seating ten. Completing the ground floor are two rooms which will come in handy after days out walking or biking in the countryside: a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer (plus fridge/freezer), and a shower room. Four further bedrooms can be found up the handmade oak staircase in the sitting room. Along the landing are three king size bedrooms, two of which have an en suite shower room, as well as a pretty double. Finally, there is a family bathroom with a bath, separate shower, and WC. The bedrooms feature exposed beams and sloped or vaulted ceilings, adding to the property s traditional charm. Outside is an enclosed lawned garden, where you can host a BBQ, dine alfresco, and enjoy a soak in the hot tub. Bike storage is available, as well as grazing for a horse or pony. There is ample off road parking beside the property.
