Situated near the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Welsh town of Brecon is the perfect location for lovers of the outdoors. As well as its Georgian architecture, the town of Brecon has a fine cathedral with a shop, restaurant and heritage centre. You can follow Captain's Walk and see the remains of Brecon's medieval walls, or visit the South Wales Borderers Museum at Brecon Barracks. Take advantage of good weather to cruise the canal that links Brecon with Newport. The area is steeped in history with some of Europe s finest surviving castles, Brecon Castle overlooking the River Usk, Abergavenny Castle set against the spectacular hills and Crickhowell Castle a prominent feature within a small market town. For a traditional family day trip, there are many attractions including The Big Pit National Coal Museum, Blaenavon Iron Works and the National Showcaves Centre. Stepping from the driveway into the cottage, the back door gives access to the kitchen/diner, a spacious room with stone tiled floor and windows offering views onto the garden. Whilst the cottage offers many original features the kitchen has been finished with a contemporary style, a well equipped space that is complimented with wooden work tops and sheer units. A full sized gas range with electric oven, microwave, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. For dining a large solid wooden table with chairs where you can open the French doors in summer time. The spacious lounge is accessed via the dining area, this room has been beautifully finished with stripped wooden floors, rich woollen rugs and leather sofas where you can relax with friends in front of the wood burner. For the competitive amongst you there is a games room with TV ready for gaming, this room also has two single day beds. There is also a shower room with WC on the ground floor. There is access to the first floor via two staircases. The slatted staircase has a small landing where you will find a double room and a single room. The main staircase opens onto a landing where you will find, one double room, one twin room and one single room. There is also a bathroom with separate shower and WC. Step outside onto the courtyard, the original stone walls add to the character, there is a large table and benches and BBQ for dining, there is also a slightly raised area laid to lawn which is great for dogs and children. There is off road parking for four cars.
