Within easy reach by road are Brecon (8 miles), Crickhowell (9 miles), Abergavenny (13 miles) and Hay on Wye (15 miles), where you can spend time wandering the shops and sampling some local fare and visiting historic sites. The cottage is located between the Black Mountains (Pen Trumau, Waun Fach) and the Beacons (Pen y Fan, Pen y Big and Cribyn) and provides easy access to both mountain ranges. The cottage itself is a charming combination of original features with beams and contemporary fixtures and fittings. The newly renovated kitchen has an electric cooker and a microwave, fridge, dishwasher and a coffee maker. The adjoining dining area has an extendable dining table and chairs. There is a Utility room with sink, washing machine and freezer and room to dry clothes and store boots, with the back door to the garden. At this end of the cottage is the downstairs bathroom with a shower over the bath, whb and wc and downstairs bedroom with a double bed. The Sitting room has sofas set around the fine large inglenook fireplace with the great wooden lintel above the wood burning stove and patio doors leading out to the garden. TV with Free Sat and Internet/Wifi and DVD player. Up a couple of steps is the heated, full width conservatory with sofas and table and chairs, which has stunning views of the garden and hills and the resident birdlife including nuthatches, red kites and blue tits. Up the original stone stairs now thickly carpeted to three bedrooms (one large double and 2 singles) and a second shower room with a shower, whb and wc. The sheltered garden behind the cottage is pretty with a large flowering cherry tree and lawns there is garden furniture and a BBQ; ample off road parking, and storage in the garage.
