The traditional English village of Blockley is nestled in a charming valley and remains unspoiled. It's a lovely mix of stone cottages, surrounding countryside and a meandering mill stream, all creating the perfect backdrop for a stay in the Cotswolds. The village is well served by a handful of traditional inns and a village community store with artisan café. You are well placed for exploring the Cotswolds and its many pretty market towns and villages, including Stow on the Wold, Lower Slaughter, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Bourton on the Water and Burford. Further afield is the historic town of Stratford upon Avon, Shakespeare s birthplace, and Cheltenham, home to the famous horse racing, the literature and food festival. More local attractions include Chastleton House and Gardens, Sudeley Castle and Daylesford organic farm shop. The entrance to this charming cottage is accessed via the pretty cottage garden. Step inside and take a seat on the wooden bench where you can remove your muddy boots. On the ground floor, the kitchen/diner is brimming with character and finished with a contemporary twist. The bespoke wooden units are topped with curved granite worktops, offering a small breakfast bar where you can enjoy a quick morning coffee. For the chef, there's an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, American style fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. For dining, there's a traditional farmhouse table and chairs. From the kitchen, walk up the cottage style stairs where you will find the lounge, here you can sink into the large sofa in front of the wood burning stove, or simply relax in the window seat and enjoy a good book. When the day is done, a staircase leads to the second floor landing where you will find a double bedroom with wardrobe behind the door enjoying views across the garden and rooftops. There is a shower room with WC also on this floor. A further staircase offers access to a twin room in the loft, beautifully finished with rooftop views. Outside, the cottage enjoys an enclosed cottage garden with a table and chairs with charcoal BBQ. There is off road parking for two cars and storage for bikes.
