Quenington Cottage offers an enchanting example of the honey-coloured, slightly wonky cottages you can stumble across in the Cotswolds. The interiors encapsulate the perfectly imperfect, cosy look characteristic of the ideal cottage. With beamed ceilings and a country kitchen, everything about the cottage feels comforting, it is the kind of place you can turn up and instantly relax.
This quintessential semi-detached cottage is located in the pretty village of Quenington in the Coln Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Stays here are best filled with long walks, slow pub lunches and evenings in front of the wood-burner, talking through the day’s activities with your loved ones. Fully refurbished, the original charm and character of the property has been brought back to life with modern fittings and features that make it feel spacious and light.
The front door leads into the bright, country kitchen, with cream-coloured cupboards and a checkboard terracotta stone floor. Equipped with all that you could need, this delightful space is perfect for everything, from preparing a light picnic, to a full roast dinner in the winter. The kitchen leads through to an intimate dining room with a large oak dining table, suiting relaxed breakfasts and special evening meals all the same. The living room may steal your heart in this cottage, with double aspect windows that bring the magic of the garden within the room, and the warmth of the woodburning stove that makes every evening feel as cosy as could be.
On the first floor, there are two lovely double bedrooms and a family bathroom, offering plenty of space for four guests to spread out and relax. The larger bedroom boasts a super-king bed, and the second offers a king-size bed, both as comfy as each other, with each room guaranteeing a good night sleep.
Stepping outside, the sunny garden is private and enclosed, with a luscious lawn, bordered by pretty flower beds. Seasonal flowers mean birds and bees in abundance, with a patio dining table and chairs, perfect for the summer months. In the winter, evergreen trees and frost on the grass make this tranquil space feel equally enchanting!
Please Note: The cottage is only suitable for children aged 17+ (Sorry no little ones)

Whilst the immediate area offers calm and tranquillity, the location is also a fantastic choice for guests wishing to explore the wonderful Cotswold region. There are a wide range of towns and villages near-by just waiting to be discovered, including Burford, Lechlade, Fairford, Cirencester and Cheltenham. For keen bargain shoppers, Bicester Designer Village Outlet Centre is just a thirty-minute drive away.
Through almost every corner of this picturesque area you will spot beautiful, honey-coloured Cotswold stone, undulating fields filled with sheep and lots of winding narrow lanes flanked by dry stone walls. Offering everything from casual, atmospheric pubs, to exceptional fine-dining restaurants, you can find something for everyone in this beautiful area.
Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the local towns we would highly recommend visiting. Often referred to as the Venice of the Cotswolds, there are beautiful bridges weaving their way across the River Windrush. Cosy cafes line the pretty honey-coloured streets, perfect for a morning of exploring. Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest of the Cotswold towns, is another delightful market town to visit. Rich in history, at the height of the Cotswold wool industry, it held annual fairs where as many as 20000 sheep were sold at one time. The Market Square is very attractive with its ancient cross, town stocks and an elegant array of Cotswold town houses and shops. There are many fine antique shops, art galleries, gift and craft shops.
The cottage is situated 30miles away from Oxford, and 25miles from Cheltenham, with several local train stations within a distance.
