Dolgellau 2.8 miles. This spacious, detached cottage lies at the foot of Cader Idris in an idyllic lakeside position, a few miles from the market town of Dolgellau in Snowdonia National Park. Originally an old dairy, Nant Y Gwernan provides a superb family base for a exploring the area or simply relaxing amongst the picturesque scenery. Kick off your boots in the entrance hallway and step into the glorious open-plan living area, filled with an abundance of natural light. You will immediately be drawn towards the sliding patio doors which truly bring the outside in, offering lovely views of the lake and opposite woodland. Prepare home-cooked meals in the contemporary kitchen, featuring gloss black units and an oak worktop for a stylish finish. Adjoining the setup is a dining table with seating for all the family to gather round and enjoy a hearty feast, as well as a sitting area for taking in the splendid view. Explore the ground floor further and discover the cosy snug room, dressed in a quaint country theme, with chesterfield style sofas and an alluring gas log effect for relaxation, and a Smart TV with Sky for entertainment. Climb the stairs up to the galley style landing which shares the bedrooms down two wings. The master bedroom features a generous super king-size bed and glass Juilet balcony, offering admirable views over the lake and towards the woodland. Just outside the master is a modern shower room with slate tiling and gloss white fixtures. Set down the other wing is the double bedroom and adult bunks, along with a family bathroom. Perhaps the highlight of the property is the stunning garden space, where you can sit on the picnic bench with a glass of wine or dine alfresco style with a stunning backdrop. Thanks to the waterside location and an abundance of shrubs and flowers, several beautiful dragonflies are attracted to the area, which adds to the wild garden feel. If you can ever take yourself away from this beautiful location, then bustling town of Dolgellau is only a short drive away and offers several tea rooms, shops, restaurants and pubs. A number of outdoor activities can be enjoyed in the area, with the Cader Idris mountain range just a short walk away and the largest mountain bike trail in Wales, Coed Y Brenin, four miles away.
