This cosy apartment in the heart of Criccieth is perfect for a romantic seaside retreat for two. The town is dominated by the fabulous medieval castle perched on the headland. With beaches, popular cafes, shops and restaurants just a stroll away, Criccieth has everything you could want from a seaside stay. There is no shortage of castles in this part of Wales, and it’s well worth heading the 17 miles to Caernarfon Castle. Keen walkers can explore the coastline by picking up the Wales Coast Path or why not enjoy a round of golf at one of the seven golf courses in the area. Portmeirion, the picturesque village which provided the location for 1960s TV series The Prisoner, is only 8 miles away. Thrill seekers can head to Zip World or Go Below (both within 30 miles) to zip line over spectacular scenery or zip line, abseil and boat through intriguing caverns.
The apartment itself is up an internal flight of stairs and once inside, you’ll find a cosy, open-plan living space with a homely feel. The comfortable sofa transforms into a bed of necessary and is well positioned for a relaxing evening in front of the Smart TV, or you can admire the spectacular views over Cardigan Bay from the window. The lounge/kitchen/diner also offers a dining table and chairs to enjoy meals and the kitchenette is equipped for simple meals and snacks. The king-size bedroom is well furnished and has a TV if you fancy a morning coffee in bed with the news and there is also a stylish en-suite shower room when you’re ready to face the day.
While there is no outdoor space at this property, you are just a mile from the beach so there are plenty of opportunities for a morning walk or an evening stroll – you could even take a picnic and enjoy some al fresco dining in warmer weather.
