Escape to this delightful cottage that sleeps up to five guests above the thriving village of Aberdovey, a destination renowned for its endless potential for holiday activities. For avid explorers, you ll have a plethora of trails leading from your doorstep including footpaths to Yr Horon, Panorama Walk and Llyn Barfog (Bearded Lake). Approach Aberdovey from the steep path that winds down to the village, embracing the friendly charm of this attractive harbour and extensive stretch of golden sand. Sample fresh seafood in a restaurant at dusk or treat your family to breakfast with a view before descending on the jetty to try crabbing, sailing or one of the various water sports activities available. Brimming with old world charm, the traditional cottage retains glimpses of its past including extremely thick walls and an original fireplace. Once used for housing the staff of Penhelig Lodge, the cottage has been lovingly restored to reflect a homely atmosphere that s perfect for families and small groups. Enter via the porch and cast aside your muddy shoes, sinking into the comfortable leather sofas with a soothing cup of coffee and a few treats. The living room has everything you need for cosy evenings including a multi fuelled stove, the logs for this can be purchased locally. Switch on the TV and reach for a bowl of sweet popcorn ready to watch a DVD or take the time simply to sit and marvel at the glorious vistas through the window. Adjoined by an open archway, the kitchen/diner is primed for mealtimes with a table and all the equipment you need to cook up a storm and clear away afterwards. You ll find an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher and a microwave, plus the separate utility room has a handy washing machine as well as a fridge/freezer with three drawers for storing your locally sourced ingredients. Completing the ground floor is a WC. Leading from the lounge, the stairs ascend to the first floor and reveal three bedrooms, all of which feature useful bedroom furniture for storage. Choose from a south facing bedroom with a king size bed, a pretty twin room or a compact bedroom with a single bed. All three share the elegant shower room with its walk in shower and WC. Access to the cottage is via a track with surrounding hedgerows that can sometimes be a little overgrown. It enjoys an elevated position on a steep slope, bordered by a rocky face to the front and rear which results in some seriously impressive views to admire over an ice cold glass of wine. Park in the off road car park just above the cottage that has space for two cars, then make your way down to your abode. Your garden space is unenclosed and set across two tiers with a patio below complete with garden furniture. The top lawn and garden furniture is for your exclusive use, but access to the remainder of the garden including the rear of the property, the shed and the washing line is shared by the neighbouring properties. The nearby pub is a pleasant stroll in the evenings but be sure to take a torch as there is limited lighting this can prove to be quite the adventure otherwise.
