The Hope Mansell valley boasts rolling hills, rich pastureland and thick woodland, ideal for those wanting to explore both the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley by day and relax in peace and tranquillity in the evenings. With walks from the door across mixed woods, farmlands and through ancient tracks, the stunning views constantly change. Nearby Goodrich Castle sits majestically within a wooded hill. For enthusiastic cyclists, cycle paths guide you through the Forest of Dean where you can take in the magic of Puzzle Wood and the history of the Clearwell Caves. Views from Symonds Yat rock are not to be missed. Ross on Wye is within easy reach and is hailed as the birthplace of modern tourism with 17th century market house, and Monmouth, the birthplace of Henry V. A traditional garden gate gives way to a gravel pathway that will lead you to the front door. The barn entrance opens into an entrance hall with separate WC, space for muddy boots and hanging space for coats. To one side there s access into the comfortable lounge where you can relax and enjoy views onto the countryside through the coach house double doors. Down a few steps you will find the original milling area of the barn, sympathetically restored with timbered ceiling and curved walls where the pony would have turned the mill. This open plan space comprises a lounge/kitchen/diner, the lounge with TV/DVD has classic sofas, perfect to sink into after a day exploring. The dining area takes centre stage and the kitchen offers a contemporary twist and is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment and dishwasher. So, when the day is done, climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find a vaulted double bedroom with mezzanine over the lounge. The room is enhanced with picture windows offering views onto the valley. There is an en suite shower room with shower and WC and a tucked away dressing area. A second staircase offers access to the second floor with the twin room with views across the meadow, up the hill and to the woods. Across the landing there is a shower room with shower and WC. Step outside into the established grounds and enjoy the natural beauty of the meadows surrounding the barn with table and chairs. There are approximately three acres where you are free to wander, meet the owner s friendly sheep and chickens that roam the orchard, take a stroll up the meadow and relax on the perfectly sited bench to enjoy the view. There is off road parking for two cars.
